Committed to excellence.
The Barritt Firm is focused on labor and employment law disputes such as wrongful termination claims, discrimination claims, whistleblower claims, wage and hour claims, trade secrets claims, and other employment-related claims. We also offer consulting and litigation services to executives requiring advice and counsel concerning their employment agreements or other employment-related matters.
Areas of Focus
Employer Representation
For over 30 years, we have defended employees in all areas of employment litigation–discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, whistleblower claims, etc. We tailor our approach to meet your objectives; from seeking an early resolution to vigorously defending your interests at every stage, and employing every strategy in between.
Executive Representation
A substantial portion of our practice involves representing executives and professionals in transition. We represent this select group of employees in negotiating and drafting their employment agreements, severance agreements, change of control agreements and, if necessary, advancing their interests in litigation or arbitration.
Unfair competition/ Trade Secrets
The Barritt Firm has significant experience in prosecuting and defending unfair competition and trade secret disputes involving companies and individuals in a variety of industries.
Defending Individuals
Executives, managers and employees are often sued in their individual capacities in employment litigation. Ethical rules can prevent one law firm from defending both the company and the executive, manager, or employee. In such cases, we are often retained to represent the individual and work cooperatively with the company’s counsel to protect the individual’s interests.
Employee Representation
Our practice is unique in that we also represent employees in select litigated matters against their employers. These cases involve all areas of employment law such as discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, breach of contract, and wage and hour disputes.
